The School of Music offers the following financial aid opportunities to students studying organ performance. Interested students should complete an online application or contact Dr. Faythe Freese, ffreese@ua.edu, for more information.

Scholarships

The School of Music awards these scholarships based on performing and creative talent:

  • Gladys Ahrenholz Organ Scholarship
  • Warren Hutton Organ Scholarship
  • Organ Scholarship Competition

Students who audition for admission will be automatically considered for all available music scholarships. Admission to The University of Alabama must be granted before a scholarship can be awarded

Awards are restricted to students enrolled as music majors in the BM or BS degree programs. Students in the School’s BA programs are not eligible for School of Music scholarships. Awards may carry up to the amount of full tuition. As per University policy, the amount of a music scholarship may be reduced should a student receive other scholarship awards from The University of Alabama.

For information about general scholarships for freshman and transfer students, visit the undergraduate scholarships website.

Graduate Assistantships

For information about general graduate assistantships, visit the Graduate School’s website.

  • Denny Chimes Assistantship (pays half tuition and a stipend)
  • Accompanying assistantships are frequently available. Recipients may accompany voice lessons and/or choral groups. The financial award varies.
